Denise A. Gorondy, DVM
Dr. Gorondy graduated from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Following graduation, she completed an internship in equine medicine, surgery, and ambulatory services at Kansas State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Gorondy has been practicing equine veterinary medicine in the central Virginia region since 2000. The majority of her practice consists of lameness evaluations, performance horse medicine, and dentistry. Her advanced training in equine acupuncture and veterinary chiropractic care enhances her ability to evaluate performance related issues in all levels of equine athletes. Dr. Gorondy’s dedication to superior patient care allows her to cultivate longstanding client relationships. Dr. Gorondy and her husband enjoy spending time with their sons Gavin and Cormac, running, skiing, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jennifer L. Wright, DVM, IVCA
Dr. Wright graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Magna Cum Laude in 2001. Following graduation, Dr. Wright accepted a position in Chicago, Illinois at a leading referral hospital for equine medicine, surgery, and lameness. In 2004, Dr. Wright moved to the central Virginia area, where she has developed strong client relationships through her dedication to excellent patient care and client service. Though the majority of her practice consists of sports medicine, dentistry, and preventive medicine, she enjoys all aspects of equine veterinary care. Dr. Wright trained at the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine and Options For Animals College of Animal Chiropractic, and has successfully integrated acupuncture, herbal medicine and chiropractic care with conventional diagnostics and therapies. She is closely involved with the equine community, and frequently participates in local equine educational seminars. Dr. Wright enjoys spending time with her husband Tim, their son Barclay, and their golden retriever.
Jennifer J. Blum
Jennifer Blum worked for six years as a business manager before pursuing her passion for horses. Jennifer managed a large riding school for 2 years where she was responsible for the routine wellness of 22 horses and assisted in providing veterinary care. She has worked since 2007 as a Veterinary Assistant and is currently enrolled part-time at Penn Foster College in their Veterinary Technician program. Her dedication, work ethic, and passion have made her an important member of the Three Oaks Equine Veterinary Services’ team.
Taylor R. Dowdy
Taylor Dowdy attended Averett University in Danville, Virginia to study Equine Science. She completed a veterinary science program in 2007 which catapulted her desire to learn more about horses and their behavior. She has been riding since she was twelve years old and worked in various stables and barns while she was going to school. Taylor worked for a small animal hospital for over a year but her passion is horses. She understands the value of client relationships and is happy to be a part of the Three Oaks Equine Veterinary Services Team.
Colleen B. Via
Colleen Via graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelors’ degree in Animal Science emphasizing in Equine Studies and Livestock Production, as well as an Associates’ degree in Agribusiness. Currently Colleen lives on an equine boarding facility assisting with the care and wellness of all ages, shapes, and sizes of horses and ponies. She enjoys exhibiting Angus cattle and showing at AQHA shows. Colleen’s sunny disposition, compassion, and education in equine handling and management make her an invaluable addition to the Three Oaks Equine Veterinary Services team!
Timothy S. Wright
Tim Wright was an international competitor on the Canadian Equestrian Team representing Canada at two World Championships. He coached members of both the Canadian and American equestrian teams and wrote a coaching manual published by Sport Canada, the Canadian governing body of national and international sport. Tim set a Canadian record at the 1990 World Equestrian Games hosted in Stockholm, Sweden that was held until the 2010 World Equestrian Games. In addition to his equestrian activities, he has been a highly effective manager with 19+ years of management experience in competitive business sectors. Tim is a team builder and skilled negotiator, with a proactive management style and the ability to analyze and execute. This combination of business management and equestrian experience has made Tim uniquely qualified to be the practice manager of Three Oaks Equine Veterinary Services, PLLC.
